You will be picked up from your hotel at 3:30 am. m. and you will be transferred (by bus) to the Ollantaytambo station to catch the 6:10 am train. m. of 104 km (2000 masl/ 6560 feet) located along the Urubamba river where the trek (Inca Trail) will begin. Before leaving to visit the Inca archaeological site, we will provide you with a packed lunch and drinks, as well as a briefing, which will be provided by our professional guide. Here you have the opportunity to admire the magnificent view of the snow-capped mountains and when you are ready, we will start our trek to the Classic Inca Trail where we will visit: Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, the Urubamba river and other Inca sites. Starting at km 104, it will take around 3 hours to walk to Wiñayhuayna (quecua for “forever young”) 2600m/8530ft. For many, this place housed the old houses of the ancient priests of Machu Picchu. Continuing along this path we will arrive at Inti Punku (4 km) where we will have our first view of the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. From there, the trail will begin to descend towards Machu Picchu where we will have the opportunity to take spectacular photographs. We will take a bus to Aguas Calientes where the guide will take us to the hotel, followed by dinner at a restaurant.
At 4:30 am we head to Machu Picchu with our professional guide to visit the main sites during a 2 hour tour. After the visit, you will have free time to visit Machu Picchu or Inti Punku (the Sun Gate) again on your own. If you have chosen to visit the Huayna Picchu* mountain or the Machu Picchu* mountain, now is the time to make the ascent. In the afternoon we will return to Aguas Calientes, take a train to Ollantaytambo followed by a bus to Cusco.
